Mk4 Motor Control and Solid State Relay

This device is a combination Leslie motor control and a solid state relay (pictured at left). This is the cadillac of all Leslie motor controls! As a motor control, this device converts your Leslie to 3 speed capability (off/slow/fast). Use it with old style single speed motors or with fast motors. It has 4 selectable slow speeds. And there's more. As a solid state relay, this device replaces the old mechanical relay with a solid state relay! Solid state relays provide totally silent and highly reliable Leslie speed changes without the audio "pop" some Leslies make when switched. This device mounts inside your 122 or 147 amp and uses your existing 6-pin Leslie cable. Two great devices in one.

MK1B Motor Control

The time honored Hampton Motor Control allows a single speed Leslie's existing motors to operate at both fast and slow speeds. To do this, the motor control synchronously switches the power on/off to the motors at precisely the correct intervals to achieve reduced speeds from a single speed motor. Power is never interrupted when current is flowing through the motors to provide quiet operation (no switching noise on power, and so no noise is heard in the audio signal). Slow speed is not achieved by varying current or voltage applied to the motor as these methods can cause motor damage.

The Motor Control box (pictured above) is easily installed in a single speed Leslie using common tools. After installation, the single speed Leslie rotates at Chorale speed instead of stopping. The rotation speed and effect is identical to that of a two speed Leslie.
