BT Productions proudly offers the sweetest sounding Leslie top driver on the market.

The original Leslie driver, the venerable Jensen V-21, was a very smooth and sweet sounding driver that was very well suited to the Leslie's frequency range. One of the keys to the beauty of the old Jensen's sound is that it's diaphragm was made of phenolic material, a synthetic resin. Today's modern drivers, designed mainly for PA use, are normally made of various types of metallic materials which offer sharply more prominent high end response than old phenolic drivers. That sounds great in a PA speaker, but tends to sound harsh, shrill, and brittle when used in a Leslie. This overly bright sound is even more prominant with you play a digital Hammond clone through your Leslie. Too bad, since these bright sounding drivers are what is available for use in Leslie cabinets today. That is, until now...

BT Productions is now offering a new, highly reliable top driver that delivers the sweet sound we loved from the old Jensen. This new driver uses a phenolic diaphragm, just like the old Jensen did, and delivers all the the sweet, smooth, classic tone your Hammond or Hammond clone is capable of. Plus, this new driver's magnet is made using high grade Alnico-5, the same ferric material used in vintage speakers from the 50's and 60's. It's tone is superior and we think you'll agree, this is the best sounding Leslie top driver on the market.

This is a 75 Watt 16 ohm driver and is very well suited for use with tube and other Leslies. And you may specially order this driver from us in a 125 Watt version, suitable for use with most any solid state high-powered Leslie. Call for details.

Compatibility

Our new driver replaces the driver now in your Leslie using the existing mounting holes. The driver throat screws into the mount (1 3/8", 18 threads) and is 100% compatible with the existing driver product available from Hammond-Suzuki dealers. Or if the driver you now use has the older bolt-in type mount, we offer a screw-in adapter plate that will fit your existing mount. And our new driver can re-use the spindle plate bolted to your existing driver. Call with any questions!
